CGPA Calculator

Combine your semester GPAs and credits into one cumulative CGPA.

What is CGPA?

CGPA β€” Cumulative Grade Point Average β€” is the credit-weighted average of your semester GPAs across your whole programme. A semester with more credits counts for more, so CGPA is not simply the average of your semester GPAs.

The CGPA formula

CGPA = Ξ£(semester GPA Γ— semester credits) Γ· Ξ£(credits). Add a row for each semester with its GPA and total credits; the calculator multiplies, sums, and divides to give your cumulative figure on the same scale you entered.

How to use the CGPA Calculator

  1. Add each semester. Create a row for every semester you have completed.
  2. Enter the semester GPA. Type the GPA you earned that semester.
  3. Enter the credits. Add the total credits carried in that semester.
  4. Read your CGPA. The cumulative average updates as you type.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between GPA and CGPA?

GPA usually measures a single semester or term, while CGPA is the cumulative, credit-weighted average across all semesters of your programme.

Do semesters with more credits count for more?

Yes. CGPA is credit-weighted, so a heavier semester influences the cumulative figure more than a lighter one.

Can I use this before finishing my course?

Yes. Add only the semesters completed so far to see your CGPA to date.

Is my data stored anywhere?

No. The calculation is entirely local to your browser; nothing is uploaded.
