QR Code Generator
Turn any text or URL into a scannable QR code and download it as a PNG.
What is a QR code?
A QR code (Quick Response code) is a two-dimensional barcode that stores text β most often a website link β as a grid of black and white squares. Almost any phone camera reads one in a moment, which is why QR codes appear on posters, menus, packaging, tickets and business cards.
Error-correction levels
Every QR code carries spare data so it still scans when partly dirty, creased or covered. Level
L recovers about 7% of the code, M about 15%, Q about 25% and
H about 30%. A higher level makes the code denser but tougher β useful when you plan to
print a logo over the centre or expect wear and tear.
How to use the QR Code Generator
- Enter your text or URL. Type or paste the link or message you want to encode.
- Pick a size. Larger modules are easier to scan from a distance or in low light.
- Choose error correction. Higher levels stay scannable even when the code is partly covered or printed small.
- Download the PNG. The preview updates instantly; click Download PNG to save the image.
Frequently asked questions
Do the QR codes expire?
No. A QR code is simply an encoded value, so the codes you generate here never expire. If it points to a URL, it keeps working for as long as that URL is live.
Is there a limit to how much text I can encode?
A single QR code can hold a few thousand characters, but denser codes are harder to scan. For long content, link to a page instead of encoding all the text.
Does this tool upload my data?
No. The QR code is generated entirely in your browser; nothing you type is sent to or stored on a server.
Can I use these QR codes commercially?
Yes. The images you download are yours to use on packaging, menus, flyers or anywhere else, free of charge.
