Add or remove GST in seconds

GST (Goods and Services Tax) in India is charged at 5%, 12%, 18% or 28% depending on the item. Sometimes a price already includes GST and you need the tax portion out of it; other times you have a base price and need to add GST on top. This calculator handles both directions at any rate.

How GST is calculated

To add GST: tax = amount Γ— rate Γ· 100 and the gross = amount + tax. To remove GST from a gross figure: net = amount Γ· (1 + rate Γ· 100) and the tax = amount βˆ’ net. Choose the mode that matches your figure.
