Discount Calculator

Find the final price after a discount and see exactly how much you save.

Know the real sale price

A discount is a percentage taken off the original price. Shops advertise the percentage, but what you really want to know is the final price and how much you save. This calculator gives you both instantly, so you can check a deal before you reach the till.

How the discount is calculated

Final price = original price × (1 − discount% ÷ 100), and the amount saved is simply original price − final price. For example, 25% off ₹2,000 leaves a final price of ₹1,500 and a saving of ₹500.

How to use the Discount Calculator

  1. Enter the original price. Type the marked or list price before any discount.
  2. Enter the discount percentage. Type the percentage off shown on the offer.
  3. Read the final price. See the price you actually pay after the discount.
  4. Check your savings. See the exact rupee amount you save on the purchase.

Frequently asked questions

How do I calculate 20% off a price?

Multiply the price by 0.80, or use this calculator with a 20% discount. For ₹1,500 at 20% off, you pay ₹1,200 and save ₹300.

Does this include GST or tax?

No. It works purely on the listed price and discount. If tax is added at checkout, use the GST calculator on top of the final price.

Can I calculate the original price from a sale price?

This tool works forward from the original price. To reverse it, divide the sale price by (1 − discount ÷ 100).

How do I handle two successive discounts?

Apply them one after another, not by adding the percentages. Calculate the first discount, then run the result through the tool again with the second discount.
